What is the Unification Principle?
Three questions every life runs into
1
Creation
Why did God create us?
The Principle begins with God as a loving Heavenly Parent, who created in order to share joy — and with three blessings given to the first man and woman: to grow to maturity, to form a loving family, and to care for the world.
2
The Fall
Why is there so much pain?
It reads the story of Adam and Eve not as a tale about fruit but about love that went wrong before its time — a broken relationship with God that passed down the human family, and that explains why good people still find it so hard to be good.
3
Restoration
How will the world be healed?
It sees history not as random but as God patiently working, through people and families, to restore what was lost — a story that runs through the Bible and reaches its turning point in the Messiah.
Providential history
History, knocked off course
God had a course in mind for the first family. The Fall sent history down another road — and ever since, it has been trying to find its way back.
The beginning
Adam and Eve
God’s first children, meant to grow up, marry with His blessing and begin a sinless family.
The course God intended
The Kingdom of Heaven begins in the first family.
The Fall
The first family breaks
Love goes wrong too soon. The family — and every family after it — is torn apart.

Jesus
Comes to restore what Adam lost. Crucified, he opens the way to spiritual salvation — and promises to return.
- Was he meant to die?
- Why was he rejected?
- Why must he come again?
The Second Advent
The Messiah?
How will he come — and has that day already begun?
Back onto God’s course?
The course restored
God’s ideal, at last?
True families, as God first intended.

Yes. The Divine Principle is the name of the book in which Rev. Moon’s teaching is written down — first published in Korean in 1966, with the authorized English translation in 1996. “The Unification Principle” is the teaching itself.
