Divine Principle

The Divine Principle (Wolli) — the foundational teaching of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, first written in Korean as Wolli Wonbon (1952), expanded as Wolli Hesol (1957) and Wolli Kangron (1966), and re-translated into English as the Exposition of the Divine Principle in 1996.

Principle of Creation

The Principle of Creation — the first part of the Divine Principle, explaining the structure and purpose of God's ideal world: dual characteristics, the four position foundation, the give-and-take action, and the growth of human beings to perfection.

The Fall

The Fall — the Divine Principle's account of how humanity's first ancestors broke the heavenly order, inheriting the lineage of Satan rather than God. Understood as a spiritual and physical fall: an illicit relationship between Eve and the archangel Lucifer, then between Adam and Eve before they had reached perfection.

Restoration

Restoration — the providential process by which God works with human beings to undo what was lost in the Fall. The Divine Principle traces a 6,000-year history of restoration providence from Adam's family through the foundation of the second advent.

The Messiah

The Messiah — in Divine Principle terms, the central figure God sends to a foundation-laying central figure family to inaugurate the kingdom on earth. Jesus came as the messiah, but the cross prevented the full restoration; the Second Advent completes what was left undone.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ — in Divine Principle reading, the only-begotten Son of God who came as the messiah but, faced with the disbelief of the Jewish leaders and the murder of John the Baptist's ministry, walked the way of the cross to accomplish at least spiritual salvation. The Second Advent completes what the cross left undone.

Unification Thought

Unification Thought — Sang Hun Lee's philosophical exposition of the Divine Principle, developed as a counterproposal to Marxism. Treats epistemology, ethics, art, history, and politics from the Unification worldview.

Shimjeong (Heart)

Shimjeong (심정) — usually rendered as "heart" in English. The core motive of God's being, the impulse to love and be loved with someone. Restoration aims to recover the human capacity for shimjeong-centred relationships.

Indemnity

Indemnity (탕감, Tanggam) — a condition of faith and substance by which fallen humans recover what was lost in the Fall. Not a payment to an angry God, but the way the human will participates in undoing what the human will participated in losing.

Four Position Foundation

The Four Position Foundation — the structural unit of God's ideal: God, husband, wife, and children, united in love. Every individual, family, society, and cosmos is meant to embody this fourfold harmony.

Lineage

Lineage (혈통, Hyeoltong) — the spiritual genealogy passed from parent to child. The Fall changed Adam and Eve's lineage from God's to Satan's; the Blessing reverses that change at the family level by re-engrafting the couple into the lineage of God.

God's Providence

God's Providence — the long arc of God's work to restore fallen humanity. Traced in the Divine Principle through Adam's family, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and the foundation for the Second Advent.

The Three Blessings

The Three Blessings (Genesis 1:28) — God's threefold commission to humanity: "Be fruitful" (individual perfection), "multiply" (family ideal), and "have dominion over the creation" (cosmic stewardship). The framework for the entire Divine Principle.
